WHY GENTLE EXERCISE?


You can build and maintain bone mass with daily exercise! Studies have shown that exercise helps to stimulate production of bone tissue, strengthens the vertebrae in the spine, and improves posture. Osteoporosis can also bring about breathing difficulties. WHY SIT AND BE FIT?

The SIT AND BE FIT program is a gentle, yet effective general exercise program designed to help people with a variety of conditions.  Responding to viewer requests, Mary Ann Wilson designed these unique workouts: Osteoporosis and Osteoporosis II, so that even those with weak and brittle bones can improve their quality of life and become functionally fit again. If you want a quality rehabilitation program that also provides a full-body workout, then SIT AND BE FIT is for you! The Osteoporosis and Osteoporosis II workouts concentrate on strengthening postural muscles, stretching chest muscles to defeat the round shoulder syndrome, circulation exercises and more.


THE OSTEOPOROSIS WORKOUT (VHS) INCLUDES:

  • Two seated full body warm-ups
  • Posture check
  • Seated circulation exercises
  • Seated finger and wrist exercises
  • Standing leg stretching and strengthening segment
  • Standing leg stretching and strengthening segment


THE OSTEOPOROSIS II WORKOUT (VHS & DVD) INCLUDES:

  • Seated warm-up w/ ball and towel
  • Seated circulation exercises
  • Seated band exercises (Those with high blood pressure should consult the doctor before doing the exercise band routines.)
  • Seatedand standing leg strengthening exercises
  • Seated and standing balance exercises
  • Seated and standing leg stretching exercises
